AXA IM appoints new Head of EM and Asian Fixed Income

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) announces the appointment of Magda Branet as Head of Emerging Markets and Asian Fixed Income, already in effect.

Based in London, Magda brings with her 17 years of experience in emerging market debt, along with a strong ESG integration expertise, and returns to AXA IM after managing money at First State Investments and at Candriam, where she was Deputy Head of Emerging Markets and lead portfolio manager of the Total Return and Sustainable Emerging Market Debt strategies.

Magda reports directly to Marion Le Morhedec, Global Head of Fixed Income.

Commenting on the appointment, Marion Le Morhedec said:

AXA IM manages more than €14 billion1  in fixed income emerging market strategies and recently has extended its product range. It has also hired additional resources in the research and analyst teams, including three additional emerging market credit analysts over the past two years.

Biography

Magda began her career at AXA Investment Managers in 2005, as an emerging markets and fixed income strategist and later as an emerging markets fixed income portfolio manager, where she co-managed the Global emerging Market Debt and Emerging Market Debt Short Duration strategies.

In 2015, Magda joined First State Investments in London, as a Senior Emerging Markets Fixed Income Portfolio Manager. She then moved to a Senior Emerging Markets Fixed Income Portfolio Manager role at Candriam, where she was the lead manager of Emerging Market Debt (EMD) Sustainable strategies as well as the EMD Total Return fund. In 2019, Magda became the Deputy Head of Emerging Market Debt.
