AXA IM hires Sales Director to drive growth in UK wholesale business

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) announces the appointment of Simon King as Sales Director in its UK Wholesale team, effective 1 November 2022. Simon will assist in growing the firm’s UK wholesale business and help further develop AXA IM’s relationships with key clients.

In this newly created role, Simon will be responsible for helping to grow AXA IM’s wholesale business in the UK and promoting key product ranges including fixed income, thematic equities and listed impact investing. He reports to John Stainsby, Head of Core Client Group UK.

Simon joins AXA IM from Bellevue Asset Management (UK) Ltd, where he worked as UK business development officer responsible for building the client base of the Bellevue Healthcare team. He has also held senior roles at T. Rowe Price, Woodford Investment Management and Thames River Capital LLP.

Simon King

Simon is a Sales Director at AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM), responsible for Distribution Sales in the UK Wholesale team. Prior to joining AXA IM, Simon worked as a business development officer at Bellevue Asset Management for two years, where he was responsible for building the client base of the closed-end investment trust, BBH.L. He began his career at Cazenove Fund Management as a marketing executive but went on to work for Thames River Capital LLP (acquired by F&C Investments) for eleven years, starting as a sales executive and finishing as co-head of the UK wholesale business for the combined sales team. His other work experience includes working at Woodford Investment Management as a relationship manager, T. Rowe Price as Head of Discretionary Client Management, and RT Partners LLP as Head of Investor Relations.
