About the conference
The 2023 World Pension Summit focuses on how the retirement industry is reassessing and renewing system design, investment decisions, portfolio construction, communication, delivery, and technology — in part because of pressure points, but also as new opportunities arise.
One of these new opportunities is investing in biodiversity. During the Summit, Jane Wadia, Head of Investment Specialists at AXA IM, will participate in the panel discussion about the what, how, and why of biodiversity. 11 October 2023, 15.10 - 15.55
The urgent need to prevent and mitigate biodiversity loss can create responsible investment opportunities driven by increasingly stringent and tangible global regulations, long-term targets and corporate reporting commitments.

Our commitment to acting for a sustainable future
Committed to acting for a sustainable future for people and our planet, we are donating to local charity Natuurmonumenten on behalf of our delegates at the World Pension Summit rather than sharing individual corporate gifts.
The main objective of Natuurmonumenten, the Society for the Preservation of Nature in the Netherlands, is to protect nature and landscape. Areas important for certain plants and animals must be safeguarded to restore and preserve biodiversity.
An eye-catching project to showcase the work of Natuurmonument is the “Marker Wadden”. Natuurmonumenten and Rijkswaterstaat (the executive agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management) are restoring one of the largest freshwater lakes in western Europe by constructing islands, marshes and mud flats from the sediments that have accumulated in the lake in recent decades. These 'Marker Wadden' will form a unique ecosystem that will boost biodiversity in the Netherlands.
By 2023, the first phase of the Marker Wadden realisation has been completed with over 1,300 hectares of new nature. A paradise for birds, insects, fish and plants with innovative hydraulic engineering and restoration of water quality,
